Update to Administration of National Examinations for 2026 – PEP 4, 5, 6

We have been advised via Bulletin from the MOEYSI of the changes to P.E.P. examination administration for grades 4-6 for 2026.

Students in grades 4-6 will sit ONLY the following examinations for this year:

Grade 6:

April 29: Mathematics Curriculum Based Test

April 29: Language Arts Curriculum Based Test

April 30: Ability Test

Grade 5:

June 10: Mathematics Performance Task

June 10: Language Arts Performance Task

Grade 4:

June 24: Literacy Test

June 24: Numeracy Test

The changes are necessitated by the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa, which has significantly disrupted the education system, particularly for parishes in the western end of Jamaica.

Grade 6 will continue to meet at 7:00 am, and will focus on the Curriculum Based Tests and Ability Tests during the additional sessions.

Grades 4 & 5 will commence 7:00 am sessions in February – February 2, 2026 and will focus on the Literacy & Numeracy tests in grade 4 and the performance tasks for Mathematics and Language Arts in grade 5.

Grade 4 will still be exposed to the performance tasks in this school year as a part of their preparation and critical readiness for success in grades 5 and 6.
